E3 2006: DK Bongo Blast Coming To Cube

You thought the Cube was dead? Nintendo just announced a new DK racer for the Cube, controlled by the bongo-drum attachment!

Straight out of thin air, Nintendo have revealed a new Donkey Kong title in the works - a racer where DK is propelled across the landscape on the top of two flaming bongoes. Interestingly, along with Super Paper Mario, the title went unannounced at the conference earlier today, though it is expected to be playable on the show floor.

Controlled via bongo-controllers (and via normal controls too, if you don't fancy the drums) Donkey Kong and his pals have gotten their mitts on some high-powered Barrel Jets incredible engines that boost when struck by a pilot. By beating on the DK Bongos controller, players can make their character swoop up, bank side to side and launch attacks on rivals.

Players can challenge the Kremlings or up to three pals on five worlds, each boasting 3-D aerial maps filled with countless obstacles and powerful items. With four people beating the bongos as they battle for the skies, this game is more party than race. Nintendo have footage of the game in action for you to watch here, along with a gallery of screenshots here!
