E3 2006: Miyamoto Talks Wii To DS Link

Miyamoto has talked a little on how the Wii and DS could interact, as well as mentioning player customisation for their Wii console...

Speaking to gaming blog Kotaku, Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto was questioned on how the DS and Wii will interact, and admitted the technology to support this was already built into the console, though Nintendo is still unsure how best to use it at the moment.

Possibilities include linking the DS up to use its touch-screen and microphone for the Wii, with the touch-screen used to edit content downloaded from the Wii before it being uploaded back to the console. This sort of connectivity should be available either from launch or soon after because of the DS' popularity - it could be a great selling point for the Wii!

Intriguingly, Miyamoto also let slip that he hopes different Wii-motes will be 'attached' to different people - and that on playing a game with your controller, the game's look or settings could be customised to your preferences. Interesting.
