E3 2006: Nintendo Kicks Off Show In Style

Nintendo kicked off their E3 conference in style, with Shigeru Miyamoto conducting using the Wii remote, and that was just the beginning.

While the conference has only just begun, it is already looking great. The first few minutes have proven to be huge. Commencing with Miyamoto walking out on stage dressed up in a suit to the sound of an orchestra tuning up, he began by conducting the Zelda theme using the Wii free-hand controller. The speed of the music varied on the speed of his conducting.

Following this, a reel of Wii games was shown, including footage of people playing the various games, and how the free hand controller can control them. Games included racing, piloting, table tennis, golf, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 and Wario Ware.
