E3 2006: Nintendo Reveal Wii 'Zapper'

A lightgun shaped attachment for the Wii-mote is on show at Nintendo's booth - take a look at the new device inside!

Displayed next to the nunchuck and "classic controller" attachments in a glass case at Nintendo's booth is the third currently known device to plug into the base of the Wii Remote. Currently called the "Zapper", the attachment features an analogue-stick for your thumb along with a standard gun-style trigger.

The Wii-mote can be seen to be slotted in, allowing the Zapper to feature the motion-sensitivity the new controller provides. Still a prototype, here's what it looks like at the moment:
