E3 2006: Official Smash Bros Site Launches
Posted 11 May 2006 at 15:16 by Tom Phillips
Find out more about the game and its creator on Nintendo's new official mini-site!
Featuring details on the making of the game, this mini-site looks to have been penned by the series' director Masahiro Sakurai himself. Insights are given as to how the game has progressed in his weekly columns which have recently been published in the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu.
The site also has a section on the game's music - specifically the stirring theme heard in the trailer which turns out to have been specially created by famed Final Fantasy composer, Nobuo Uematsu, and featured the Japanese opera singer Ken Nishikiori. The game's music will also be fully orchestral, with Latin sung lyrics.

Update: It appears that Japanese fans are being given a chance to have their say on what they want in the upcoming game. On the Japanese website there is a form for submitting, apparently, what theme tunes and even characters you would like to make the finished version of the game. No word of an English version, but the form can be found here for anyone interested.
