E3 2007: New Wii Channel Announced

E3 reveals another channel to play with...

Reggie Fils-Aime today held Nintendo's conference at this years revamped E3 and amongst the games announcements revealed the latest channel that will grace your Wii - Check Mii Out.

This channel had been previously revealed by Miyamoto when he revealed they were working on Mii Popularity Channel, which is effectively what this channel is. Reggie announced that users will be able to view other people's Mii creations as well as vote on how good they are. Interestingly the best feature of this channel is the ability to be able to obtain the Miis that you have enjoyed viewing and rated for use in your own Mii Channel as well as games that support the Mii as a game avatar such as Wii Sports and WarioWare: Smooth Moves. There was also mention of contests and competitions encouraging people to try and make Miis of specific people such as celebrities.

All in all this channel looks like it will help flesh out the Mii experience into a more fully-utilised part of your daily Wii activities. No word on a definate release date yet, but we'll bring you more as and when we get it.
