E3 2008: Dead Rising Wii Confirmed

Nintendo didn't show off a new Punch-Out!! title at E3, but we've finally got the skinny on Capcom's top secret Wii title: Dead Rising!
You may remember that we published a story last month and earlier this month featuring excerpts from NGamer in which the British videogame publication hinted at a top-secret Capcom title for the Wii, which was said to be a "surprising take on a next-gen classic". The latest issue of Famitsu reveals all about Capcom's project, which is actually a Wii port of the Xbox 360 fan-favourite, Dead Rising.
Reportedly developed in response to the unexpectedly strong sales of Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, this 'new' title will literally be the same game as the 2006 Xbox version, and Capcom are trying to keep the game's graphics as close to the HD version as possible.
The title will take into mind the needs of casual gamers, which we presume means Zapper compatibility is on the cards. The game will also feature waggle attacks such as in Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, meaning we'll be shaking like over-excited maraccas to rid our on-screen selves of an undead horde. Excellent.
The release date remains unconfirmed (and we're surprised Capcom didn't show it off at E3), but as always stick with us for the latest news as it breaks.
