E3 2008: Miyamoto Confirms Kid Icarus, But Doesn't

Shigeru Miyamoto has been questioned on the apparent lack of an expected Kid Icarus sequel at E3.
It was widely rumoured that Kid Icarus was a certainty for E3, up there with Crystal Chronicles, Pikmin 3, Punch Out!! and all that new WiiWare they showed. Oh, wait a minute, I see a pattern here...
Anyhoo, IGN took it upon themselves to quiz Shigsy as to why Nintendo left Pit out in the cold this E3 conference. His reply:
"Yeah, I'm not the producer of any Kid Icarus titles. There are some people who have some different ideas, but since I'm not the producer I can't comment on anything."But surely, this sounds like he is confirming it is in development, although he is not working on it, right?
"I'm not the producer of any Kid Icarus game, so I really can't say anything. Sorry."
Only time will tell when Kid Icarus will surface. In the meantime, we're going to cheer ourselves up with some Brawl...
