Nintendo announce that Ninja Gaiden developers are making a new Metroid - and it looks jaw-droppingly awesome.

Nintendo announced a brand new team-up with another company, whom are developing a new, darker, "edgier" game for the Wii. The trailer started with the Team Ninja (developers of Ninja Gaiden logo and then proceeded to show some sci-fi elements and explosions. And then the most surprising thing appeared: Samus Aran.

This new Metroid game, titled Metroid: Other M seems to have tonnes of action, and will delve into Samus' origins. The release is set for 2010. Says Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime:

"This will be a Metroid unlike any other. It will take you deeper into Samus' story and further into Metroid universe."
