Miyamoto confirms there is no new Pikmin 3 news to come just yet, and discusses why...

Speaking today to gaming blog Kotaku, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto clarified that there unfortunately was no new information to be revealed by the Big N about Pikmin 3 at E3 this year. The threequel was first announced at last year's expo, but has since remained firmly under wraps.

Says Miyamoto:

"I'm sorry ... unfortunately we haven't been able to expand the team size very much, because we've been working on so many different games that we've shown off at the show. So the team is working very hard, but it's a bit of a small team."

Kotaku did however get Miyamoto to confirm the team existed of more than two people, and that they were still working on a full new title. Miyamoto said his "basic idea is that the sense of the depth of the game and the simplicity of the control will all be there."

We just hope it won't be E3 2010 before we hear more on the project!
