Epic Mickey is set in Wasteland, a post-apocalypic Disney world where a multitude of Disney characters need saving. Gamers will have to balance spending time helping individual characters while also playing to solve the over-all main story missions.

Mickey can also jump into old-style cinema screens to enter 2D platforming levels paying homage to classic Disney toons. Shown off was a level that looked like a cross between Mario Bros. and Steamboat Willy.
