The director of the Kingdom Hearts franchise Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed that the Kingdom Hearts title for the 3DS will be a new title and not a port.

Just prior to E3 it was speculated that a Kingdom Hearts title would be on show for the Nintendo DS. When the list of 3DS titles in development was released yesterday a Kingdom Hearts title was featured on there.

According to Siliconera however they are not one in the same. Mr. Nomura confirmed that the title in development for the Nintendo 3DS is in fact a new title and will probably be made by the team who worked on Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep for the PSP.

For now not much else is known about this title but be sure to keep checking back.
