E3 2010: Kingdom Hearts: Re:Coded at E3

Square Enix have listed a new game on their E3 2010 page that looks promising for Nintendo DS gamers: Kingdom Hearts: Re:Coded.

Over the last two years Square Enix have been releasing episodic Kingdom Hearts titles for mobile phones in Japan in a series titled Kingdom Hearts: Coded. The series has long been rumoured to see a release in the West on the Nintendo DS and today Square Enix have confirmed this to be true in an official press release.

Square Enix have updated their official E3 site and under the section titled 'Featured Games at E3 2010' there is a logo for the previously unannounced Kingdom Hearts: Re:Coded. Additionally the game is mentioned in a press release issued today. While details have yet to be released it does seem likely that it will be a re-packaging of the series available for mobile phones in Japan.

The Kingdom Hearts: Coded series took place during Kingdom Hearts II and follows the story of Jiminy Cricket, King Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy. The title was primarily a puzzle game but featured action elements within the gameplay. A trailer for the original title can be viewed below.

With E3 starting in just a few days expect more information as well as some screenshots and impressions of the title hopefully. N-Europe will keep you updated on the news from E3 as it happens.
