E3 2010: Nintendo Conference Dated

Nintendo's E3 press conference kicks off on June 15th, but when, and more intriguingly, for how long?

We're near-enough exactly a month away from Nintendo's ever-hyped E3 press conference; it's the deep breath before the plunge. We were fairly sure that the company would hold its conference on the Tuesday - June 15th - but we didn't know what time it would commence.

As it happens, the conference will start at the traditional 9am (Los Angeles) time, but it's nice to have a confirmation. This is a tweet from the account of prominent GameTrailers host Geoff Keighly.

Just got my Nintendo E3 invite. Looks like they are doing a 2 hour briefing from 9-11 AM. Guess this is why Sony now starts at noon.

That'll be 5pm for UK residents, and 6pm for Western Europe. Find out when this is in other locations here. What is most interesting however is the longer-than-usual 2 hour slot. Historically, Nintendo's conferences have been just a shy over one hour. More to reveal? Or just a healthier helping of sales chat?

Being the event that gave us our first glimpse of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy and a little console codenamed 'Revolution', the conferences are every year hyped with good reason. What will 2010 hold? If nothing else, we can bet on seeing a comprehensive showcase of the Vitality Sensor, a world-first unveiling of the 3DS and at least a little teaser of the major Wii Legend of Zelda title.
