In five years Majesco has released nine Cooking Mama games that have sold 12 million units worldwide.

Five years ago it would have been hard to imagine that a game based on cooking would become as popular as the Cooking Mama franchise has. However, during E3 Majesco reminded everyone just how popular it has become in such a short space of time.

At their booth they featured a timeline of the series that informed visitors that the franchise has sold 12 million units worldwide, with 8.5 million of those in North America alone. Cooking Mama has branched out into other areas, including Babysitting Mama for the Wii and Gardening Mama for the DS, and is due to feature in two new games this year. Cooking Mama 4: Kitchen Magic! will be released on the 3DS this October while September will see the release of Camping Mama for the DS.
