E3 2011: Kid Icarus Brings Multiplayer and AR

Uprising to feature 3-on-3 multiplayer, use of new AR cards

It has just been unveiled at Nintendo's E3 conference that Kid Icarus will feature both multiplayer and augmented reality.

The multiplayer is reportedly three-on-three multiplayer, with players battling each other in what appear to be slightly different angel outfits. It is currently unknown if this is just local multiplayer, or whether the game will be playable over Wi-Fi.

The augmented reality makes use of new Kid Icarus AR Cards, although it is currently unknown how these will be distributed. The trailer shown at E3 features the Kid Icarus and Medusa cards producing their respective figures, and these figures then battling each other in augmented reality.
