EA have no titles in development for Wii U

Last week it was announced that many EA titles will not be making their way to Wii U because of the Frostbite 3 game engine but now it seems that things are even worse, with EA claiming that they have no titles in development for Wii U at all.

EA did provide support for the console early on in the form of Mass Effect 3, Need For Speed Most Wanted U, Madden and FIFA, and this is apparently what they were talking about back in E3 2011 when they claimed to have an 'unprecedented partnership' with Nintendo.

"What Nintendo's new console delivers speaks directly to the players of EA Sports and EA Games. Nintendo's new console will produce brilliant high-definition graphics and new gameplay opportunities. We look forward to seeing great EA content on this new platform."

So just what happened between then and now? With the revelation that Frostbite 3 won't work on Wii U, yet they are looking into a mobile version, people have been growing even more confused as to the situation between EA and Nintendo.

This doesn't spell the end for Nintendo though. EA may still support the Wii U further down the line, and Nintendo will be keen to ensure that many great titles are still on the way to Wii U in today's Nintendo Direct.
