European Nintendo Direct Wii U conference on September 13th

European gamers eager to find out more about the Wii U don't have to wait long, as Nintendo of Europe has announced that a new Nintendo Direct conference will take place this Thursday.

Nintendo of America announced a few weeks ago that a media event will be held in New York and focus on the company's upcoming console.

It had been hoped that a similar event would be held in Europe but up until today Nintendo of Europe had remained quiet on the matter.

Even now it has only come to light due to a press release from the their Spanish division, published on Game Reactor but since removed presumably because it went out early.

According to the press release the conference is due to take place at 4pm in Spain, making it 3pm in the UK.

While Nintendo has remained tight-lipped about what to expect, it seems logical that the console's release date, price information and lineup will be unveiled.

The press release stated that the console would be released "this year", easing some fears that Nintendo's recent silence has been because they were planning to delay it until next year.

N-Europe will of course keep you updated about any developments and bring you all the exciting news from the day itself so be sure to visit us on September 13th!
