Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing coming to mobiles

After the success of Miitomo, which so far has 10 million unique users and over 300 million conversations, Nintendo is looking to bring two of its franchises to mobile platforms - Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing.

These titles will release on mobile devices in the autumn of 2016 and unlike Miitomo will be pure gaming experiences.

The Fire Emblem title is designed to bring the RPG experience to a wider range of players while Animal Crossing will connect to the console versions to provide "increased enjoyment".  It is currently unknown if the new mobile Animal Crossing will connect with existing games such as New Leaf and Happy Home Designer or an as yet unconfirmed new title.

Nintendo has confirmed that more details will be announced closer to their launch and this is just the early part of their new mobile strategy so expect more titles in the future.

Nintendo will be keen to use the success of the Animal Crossing series to strengthen its mobile strategy.  Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer has sold over 3 million copies in the last year so we're sure there's plenty of eager gamers out there looking for their next fix.
