Forum Downtime
Posted 30 Nov 2011 at 12:09 by Paul Muchmore
Over the last few months, we have had to bounce N-Europe around on many different servers as our userbase continues to grow. We thought we'd found the perfect home for our forums at ZeHosting.com, a small but intelligently run hosting company, which we must say offered excellent customer service.
Unfortunately it seems that we are a little busier than first estimated. Even after doubling our bandwidth allowance for November, we still exceeded it. This is no doubt in part to do with the release of many outstanding titles this month. Not only the killer first party games like Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Super Mario 3D Land, but a wide range of high quality titles across all platforms which generated a great buzz on our message boards.
Since the eventual plan is to re-merge the main site and forums on the same server, it's clear that the plan we've been using for the last couple of months won't suffice. As such we will be looking at yet another move in the very near future.
A new billing cycle will begin in the next 48 hours for the forum server, at which point the bandwidth will be reset and the forums will come back online. Apologies for the downtime, I hope you can find something to do in the interim, like go outside, or better yet, play some games!
