The teaming-up of handheld heavyweights Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright seemed like a tantalising prospect when it was first announced for Nintendo 3DS, but the cross-over title has remained exclusively in Japanese borders since last November. Thankfully, it looks like localisation might be moving along.

Speaking at a recent Japan expo in France, co-developer Level-5's chief Akihiro Hino was asked directly about the game coming to Europe. He gave the firmest sign yet that the puzzle-cum-adventure title is on its way by saying "Something's in the works, but I can't talk about it today."

The news was also relayed on Level-5's official North American Facebook account, so it hopefully it means that both European and North American versions are on their way.
