Games Day: Overview

Last Wednesday Nintendo Benelux held the Nintendo Games Day, where members of the press were invited to play all upcoming hot titles. We were there of course.

Nintendo had hired the back-half of a cafe, where they had placed about 16 TV's with all new titles (and SSB: Melee). Also, there was one big screen, where you could first play Zelda, and later Metroid.

The games that we could play were the following:

  • Metroid Prime
  • The Legend of Zelda
  • Mario Sunshine
  • Star Fox Adventures
  • Eternal Darkness
  • Sega Soccer Slam
  • Time Splitters 2
  • Mario Party 4
  • F1 2002
  • Beach Spikers
  • Freekstyle
  • Disney's Magical Mirror

During the next couple of days, we will post our impressions of the games that we liked best.

Overall, it was an excellent idea of Nintendo to hold a day like this. The organisation was very good, there weren't too many people so you didn't have to wait hours before you could play a game (well, except for Zelda and Metroid). At the end, we got the usual bag of goodies, this time it included a GameCube-cap.
