Ghost Recon Online still Wii U-bound despite E3 no-showing

Ubisoft has re-iterated its plan to bring Ghost Recon Online to Wii U, following its complete omission at E3 this week. The game was revealed to be a Wii U launch title a year ago, but its no-showing on Ubisoft's Wii U release list suggested that the game's development has been slow.

Speaking to IGN, Ubisoft's Tony Key said that the development team at Ubisoft Singapore was focussing on getting the PC version up to scratch, revealing that it was "taking a little bit longer than they thought they would" on the game, but re-confirmed that a Wii U version was coming too.

The publisher has already launched a closed beta for the game, but the final product still only has a vague "TBA 2012" release date. The PC version is to be released as a free-to-play game, though the nature of the Wii U version's release is yet to be confirmed.

Ubisoft this week revealed eight games for the Wii U launch window.
