GSL 2004: Day Two Impressions

Some of the C-E staff give you live impressions straight from the floor of day 2 at GSL!

Hybrid-Halo:
Compared to ECTS, GSL has proven to be a much more fulfilling experience. The Nintendo pier is pretty much the usual out there Nintendo input into an otherwise sedate event. The kiddies are queing up to play some game with robots in or something which doesn't really distract my attention from the hordes of people smashing peripherals over at the Donkey Konga stands. There is much of a presence from any major company as such, but Nintendo still managed to provide Metroid Prime 2 amongst other titles which has been a good way to spend my time here. There's not much else from me, you should be here... really.

Wildo:
Being here at GSL is proving to be fun and invigorating. To see a huge Nintendo stand which is bright and colourful with a surprising queue situated outside is always good to see. Hordes of people awaiting their next go of the very well hidden Mario Tennis and the pushing and shoving of people with handfulls of bags with plenty of free goodies. For once Nintendo have a strong presence and its very pleasing to see so many people enjoying games of all types. Not to forget the rather fine and free candy floss they have been giving away. Its been a good day and i look forward to the next to see many other people's reactions at the next batch of games they will be playing in the coming months.

Jav:
What can i say? Glorious sights can be seen here at GSL, many wonders to take a hold of and give a good hands on test. Oh.. you want me to talk about the games?! Sorry, the girls had elapsed my attention, only briefly i assure you. The games and Nintendo's presence here at GSL has been a successfull one i believe, the surprise of Mario Tennis is enough to leave me with a coat hanger in the mouth style smile, and the usual gems like Donkey Konga and Metroid Prime are also wowing faces as we speak. Lots to do, lots to play, its pretty awesome here. Dissapointments however is the no-show of GoldenEye from EA and no DS.. but hey, all in good time. Thumbs up from me. Now where have those girls got to.. er.. games ahem.

Tim:
After our rather dissapointing experience at the ECTS this morning, we could not wait to get our hands on the games over at the GSL. I battled Jav with Metroid Prime 2 and beat him twice... but he beat me at Donkey Konga playing to 'All The Small Things'. (ed - beat doesnt really cut it!) We are currenlty lounging in the press area having a rest from all the gaming and woman pushing goodies in our hands. Up next is the official GSL/EGN party. We will let you know if anything interesting happens there. (ed - dude, its us, course it will) Expect to see videos and hands-on impressions on the site throughout the upcoming days, and be sure to check out the already posted coverage. If you are at the show tomorrow feel free to pull our shirts and give us a hug. Cube-Europe signing off, game on!
