Interview: Interplay Q&A

IGN talked to Scot Lane, Executive Producer at Interplay about their newly-announced for GC Hunter: The Reckoning.

The game is a Gauntlet-style 4-player action game, previously released on Xbox in May this year. But don't worry, it'll be much better than Gauntlet.

IGNcube: What are the goals for the GameCube port?

Scot Lane: The goal is to bring our extremely popular franchise Hunter: The Reckoning to the GameCube. I think people will respond very well. It fills a couple voids, its a Mature high action title and it is a 4 player party game. Party games have traditionally done quite well on Nintendo platforms and judging by a few other titles Mature games seem to be doing pretty well on the GameCube.

IGNcube: Will the GC version have any additions?

Lane: This is a port with a few changes. First, we've made some minor modifications to a few of the monsters. Second, we received a lot of feedback on difficulty from the Xbox version so we've made this one a little easier. We've also added auto-fire, this should help ease the burden on people's thumbs. We've also added several cheat codes which I'm sure will make the gamers happy.

IGNcube: Is any content being changed or left out?

Lane: No, we've fully ported the entire game and story. Its very fun to play on the GameCube, the gameplay mechanics really work on the system.
