Kimishima gives rough Switch online service price, indicates VR in the future

The Nintendo Switch will be the first time Nintendo has charged for online, a fact confirmed last month, and now we finally have some indication of what the price might be.

Speaking to the Nikkei (and translated by Twitter user Serkantoto) President Tatsumi Kimishima states that the price will be approximately 2-300 Yen, which is currently £14-21 (€16-25).

The price is not yet final, clearly, and it may change between regions but it is looking like it will come in at less than £30/€30 in Europe.  For comparissons sake, PS Plus and Xbox Gold retails for £40.

Kimishima states that the price will allow Nintendo to support online features such as multiplayer and downloading old games.  Of course we're still unaware of exactly what services will be available, how the mobile app works exactly and when the paid service will come in to effect (as it will be free at launch), but we do know a bit more now.

In the same interview he also stated that Nintendo is studying VR and will add it to Switch once they figure out how to allow users to play for hours "without problems".
