Latest Pokémon remakes sail past 3 million sold

Pokémon has never been a franchise too unfamiliar with gangbusters success, so it should come as little surprise that the latest entries have put down a formidable marker this holiday season.

The Pokémon Company confirmed in the latest Famitsu (via NeoGAF) that Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire on 3DS have surpassed 3 million sales worldwide in just a few days - and they haven't even launched in Europe yet.

The games released in Japan, North America and Australia on November 21st. Sales in Japan accounted for around 1.5 million units, giving a fairly even split with North America and Australia.

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire release in Europe on Friday November 28th.
