The kickstarter-fuelled 8-bit escapade, Shovel Knight was released last week in North America on the Wii U & 3DS to critical acclaim. Despite Europe still lacking a release date, Yacht Club Games have thought about the possibility of a sequel. They’ve even considered taking the 3D route for a Shovel Knight 64.
Nevertheless, those ideas will have to take a back seat for now as they’re still fully focused on Shovel Knight.
Charged Gamer: Did the idea of a Shovel Knight sequel ever get brought up throughout production?
Yacht Club Games: Yes, of course! There are already a few characters and ideas that didn’t make it into the final game, but would be great for a sequel. We’ve even thought of taking it 3D, for a Shovel Knight 64! But those ideas will have to wait for a bit, because we have tons of stretch goal update content to think about first!
