Limited Edition Pikachu 3DS to be available in Japan

Japan get everything; the Panasonic Q, Godzilla and now... a special edition Pikachu 3DS. The world was shocked, stunned even, and petitions emerged all over the Internet with avid Poké fans vowing to give their left Voltorb for a Pikachu 3DS XL.

But there's no hope, so far the Pikachu 3DS XL is only available in Japan and even there it's set to be as rare as Mew... and you won't find this under a truck.

In order for Japanese gamers to get their hands on the handheld, they'll have to pre-order the system from the Pokémon Center Store. The store is taking pre-orders from August until September 14th and it will be sold exclusively to pre-order holders.

It has not yet been stated whether or not the system will be produced in pre-defined numbers or whether it will stay in stock for a certain period of time. The system is set to go on sale for the regular price of 18,900 Yen.

So, what do you make of the Pikachu 3DS? Gamers everywhere are apparently already desperate for the machine and its 3D Camera nipples.

N-Europe user Canand has set up his own campaign, Operation Pika, in the hope of securing a European release for the handheld. Why not join him on his (Pokémon) conquest?
