Luigi's Mansion 2 tops the charts in Japan

As was the case with Donkey Kong Country: Returns, it looks like handing over one of Nintendo's most loved franchises over a western developer has done Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon's prospects no harm at all for the Japanese market, with the Next Level Studios-developed sequel edging out the competition to top the software chart.
There was another flood of new software this week, and sales were surely helped along by the Vernal Equinox public holiday.
As Animal Crossing: New Leaf stays well inside the top 10, it looks like it is just a matter of days now before that title surpasses three million physical copies sold, although the game has notably already done very well in terms of downloads.
