Not content with smashing sales targets and records with the Switch, Nintendo has announced today it's next mobile game will be based on the hugely popular (that's an understatement) Mario Kart series.

Mario Kart Tour is scheduled to launch before the end of the next financial year...and that's all the information we have so far. It's safe to say, however, with the Switch Deluxe version of Mario Kart selling over 7 million copies, this could take the mobile market by storm.

No images of videos of gameplay were shown and no news on pricing structures were announced either; however after seeing Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing thrive due to their Free to Play nature compared with Super Mario Run's upfront cost and somewhat disappointing returns, it's likely Nintendo will continue with this strategy.
