Just a year after Mario Party 9 on Wii, Nintendo have announced a new title in the Mario Party series but this one is set for 3DS!

This new Mario Party title boasts seven game boards, all of which will have unique mechanics. Some of these interesting boards were shown off, where four gamers were fighting for a place to hide from oncoming Bullet Bills. It also seems to have gone back to its classic roots, with 4 gamers going along the path on their own as oppose to the car mechanic seen in Mario Party 9 where all gamers moved together. 

The game boasts a great variety of mini-games too (around 80 in total) all of which use the 3DS in many crazy ways. Some of the mini-games even require the use of AR cards.

New modes have been added to this Mario Party title and Iwata stated that some of them don't require much time to play, so even if you're short for time, you can enjoy the Mario Party experience. 

Sadly though, whilst local multiplayer is a given, no online-play has been announced for the title.
