The voice behind many of the Mario characters discusses the joys of voicing a beloved video game icon.

Charles Martinet provides many voices from the Mario series including Mario, Luigi, Wario and more. The jovial voice actor has been an ardent supporter of Nintendo and has appeared at many events over the years and this year he attended Gamescom to promote Mario Kart 7, Luigi's Mansion 2 and Super Mario 3D Land for the Nintendo 3DS.

Blistered Thumbs spoke to Mr. Martinet about his work on the Mario series including how he came across the job, what he loves most about it and whether he'd like to voice Link. Be sure to watch to find out his affectionate name for series creator Shigeru Miyamoto too.
