Media: Dokapon Journey Screens

ATLUS gives us fresh screens for the latest instalment of Dokapon now for the DS!

Dokapon Kingdom never made it to European Wiis, so it's normal most of you don't know what type of game it is. If we had to boil it down simply, we'd have to say it's a game made with the sole purpose of severing those sacred ties with your friends.

Announced for the DS, Dokapon Journey is an RPG under the guise of a board game or the other way around, however you want to look at it. Pick a class for your character, train him, equip him and manage the inventory in typical RPG fashion. Then advance through the game board in turns, not unlike Mario Party for example.

While you advance, you'll fight random foes as well as any of the other 3 players (computer controlled or future ex-friends), but competition between players doesn't boil down to just luck and fighting, you can, for example perform evil deeds disguised as an opponent, so that a bounty will be placed on his head.

Both screens are used during battle.

Of course that being on DS, Dokapon Journey will make use of the handheld's unique abilities not only for the touch screen menu controlling and wireless 4 player multiplayer, but for new mini games like scratching chance cards to take a peek at the items coming your way, a game of cards or even aerobics.

Aerobics mini game! Pedal faster!

Dokapon Journey is making its way to North America on April 14, 2009 with no European release announced at the moment, meanwhile take a gander at the first 14 screenshots and the game's logo.
