Media: Dragon Ball Kai DS Trailer

Monolith Soft is working on a Dragon Ball RPG for DS, check out the first trailer inside.

Monolith Soft, known for making games such as Baten Kaitos and Disaster: Day of Crisis have shown off their next RPG: Dragon Ball Kai.

The game features turn-based combat, a big cast with familiar faces and, as usual from Monolith Soft, beautiful backgrounds. Dragon Ball Kai seems to cover the first DBZ saga as well as new stories, but it's hard to tell, since no information has been translated.

While Monolith Soft is mostly a second-party developer owned by Nintendo, Namco Bandai still hold some stock on the franchise so they're the ones publishing.

Coinciding with the release of the anime Dragon Ball Kai (a remastered version of Dragon Ball Z), the DS RPG comes out in Japan on the 29th of April with no word on a Western release just yet.

We'll keep you posted, but in the meantime you can visit the official Japanese website here.
