Media: FIFA 08 Screenshots

Some screenshots of the Wii version of FIFA 08, and details on controls and Footii Party...

EA's FIFA 08 will be the first "proper" football game to make use of the Wii's unique controls. On top of that, EA has also included a Footii Party minigame mode exclusive for the Wii.

You can pass the ball by a simple tap of A, just like all the previous versions of FIFA, however if you hold down A, and more the Remote Up, Down, Left or Right then you will pass the ball in the relevant direction. The D-pad also acts as a "quick pass" function, doing the same as holding A and moving the Remote. Changing players while defending will also work the same way as passing. Through-passes are also done in the same manner, but using B instead of A. Twisting the Wii Remote when flicking up to shoot will add spin onto the ball.

On top of all the usual features that is in every version of FIFA 08, the Wii version has a unique Footii Party mode. This is made up of three minigames - Table Football, Shoot Off and Keep Up. This mode supports up to four players, and you can unlock a unique Ronaldinho Mii along the way. The Wii version also includes more than 30 interactive tutorials to help you get to grips with the controls.
