Check out the first footage of Samus' Wii-vamped GameCube classic!

With it's release in the Land of the Rising Sun fast-approaching, Nintendo have released the first footage of Metroid Prime on Wii, which launches under the Play on Wii banner, along eventually with several other first party Gamecube titles which will will be re-tweaked, revamped and re-released in a budget range.

The Wii version of Metroid Prime will have the super-fluid IR controls from 2007's Prime 3: Corruption brought over, as well as support for 16:9 widescreen.

European Wii owners should take note: there is no planned release just yet for Play on Wii Metroid Prime over here. We will however, be treated to Wii-makes of Mario Power Tennis and Pikmin, with a release of Pikmin 2 confirmed for later this half of 2009.
