Sonic zips back into the midst with new abilities, and possibly a long-awaited return to form...

While mainstream press attention will likely be focussed on the recently-released Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 on WiiWare, let's not forget the potential superior beast.

As Sonic Colours nears its November release, early reviews suggest we should be anticipating this particular entry more than a cynical mind would reason. While not revolutionary, Colours does seem to incorporate and refine the positive aspects of both 2D and 3D Sonic titles of old.

The jury's still out on whether the Wisp system won't make or break the gameplay, but we're certainly looking forward to getting out hands on Colours next month.

The game releases in Europe on Wii and DS on November 12th.
