With Nintendo's handheld getting its own version of Sonic Generations this winter, here are a plethora of new screens...

While Sega won't be releasing Sonic Generations on Wii later this year, they are giving 3DS owners their own version of the game. Developed by Dimps, the 3DS version is very different from HD iterations in that it will feature almost exclusively stages from handheld Sonic outings of days gone by.

Sega have confirmed that the 3DS game will support online competitive multiplayer for two people, utilise the system's StreetPass feature and include Big Arm from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 as a boss. A special stage from 2003's Sonic Heroes is also being teased.

Sonic Generations scheduled to release this November.
