Get your first peek at Hironobu Sakaguchi's next epic brainchild...
RPG-loving Wii owners were sent into a tizzy of excitement earlier this year when it was announced Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi was working on the The Last Story for Wii, set to be published by Nintendo. The Japanese website was updated today, and we can bring you the first snippets of info, as well as some gorgeous concept art.
Be sure to head over to the gallery for more.
The Last Story is set on Ruri Island - a highly prosperous land that lies at the mouth of the harbour of a surrounding, vast, mountainous continent. While the rest of the empire suffers in poverty and decay, Ruri Island thrives on the resource of magic, ruled over by the ambitious Count Arganon.
Sakaguchi-san has explained that he wishes players to be able to explore the natural beauty of the sun-drenched Ruri Island, and as such has strived to limit the amount of 'sci-fi influence' on the world's setting. This should no doubt please those of us who've felt a little nauseated by the over-prominence of shiny belts and zippers in certain other RPG franchises.
More is set to be unveiled of The Last Story soon. Keep it locked to N-Europe for all your Nintendo RPG fix.
Special thanks to Killer Kirby for the heads-up!
