Having completed production, Nintendo showcased The Last Story to the Japanese public today. Feast your eyes on some gorgeous footage inside...

To celebrate the completion of development on Hironobu Sakaguchi's The Last Story, Nintendo and Mistwalker held a glitzy event in Japan last night to give the public a first taste of the epic RPG. Even Satoru Iwata and composer Nobuo Uematsu dropped by.

While a tonne of game titbits transpired from the event, and you can read them in the forum over here (courtesy of Hero-of-Time), most of it would be irrelevant to us without the game releasing over here - something Nintendo still refuses to confirm. However, a rather interesting snippet is that Nintendo's in-house testing unit, Super Mario Club, spent a whole nine months working on testing a debug for the project, indicating an incredibly meaty adventure indeed.

To coincide with the event, Nintendo released a lengthy video of gameplay footage which you can drool over below.

The Last Story releases in Japan on January 27th.
