Some new screenshots have been released for the WiiWare resurrection of the puzzle-platformer, including an official announcement.

Toki Tori is a puzzle-platformer which was originally released on the Game Boy Color. Today, Two Tribes officially announced the WiiWare update to the charming title which stars the titular chubby yellow bird.

As seen in a previous trailer, the update sports a stylish new 2.5D look, updated content and a new Wii Remote control-scheme. Two Tribes have announced that Toki Tori will also have several new weapons added to his bustling arsenal, including the Telewarp, Freeze-o-Matic and InstantRock�.

This lovely platformer is set for a release on May 12th in the US, but European and Australian release dates are currently up in the air until Nintendo pull their finger out and announce a release date for those territories.

Toki Tori was released late in the GBC's lifespan, and didn't receive the attention it deserved, despite becoming a cult hit.
