Mega Man titles are on the way to consoles and handhelds

After a rather quiet 25th anniversary and incomplete projects (we won't mention a certain 3DS game) gamers were starting to wonder what the future held for Mega Man but it seems that Capcom haven't completely shunned him after all.

Speaking recently with Nintendo Power, Capcom USA senior vice president, Christian Svensson, explained that more Mega Man is on the way and coming to both consoles and handhelds.

"I can say with certainty that you've not seen the last of the Blue Bomber on consoles and handhelds, and, with luck, we'll be celebrating his 50th anniversary, including all of the games you're going to enjoy over the next 25 years."

Despite his enthusiasm and certainty of new titles on the horizon, he cannot specify what titles these may be, and for what systems, just yet. The reason for this is to avoid disappointment, and any fan of Mega Man will surely know what he is referring to.

"An issue we've had in the past has been talking about games and announcing them before we're certain they're going to come out, which unfortunately has lead to profound disappointment for many fans. So for now, I'm going to have to stay mum about any details."
