Mewtwo will join the fray in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS later this month, Satoru Iwata confirmed in last night's Nintendo Direct.
The first downloadable character to be announced for the fighter, Mewtwo will be available for free to those who had registered both the 3DS and the Wii U version of the game. For those special people, the fearsome Pokémon will be available on April 15th. For the rest of us, Mewtwo will go on general sale on April 28th. You'll be able to download the character for either 3DS or Wii U version for £3.59 / €3.99, or for both versions for £4.49 / €4.99.
But Mewtwo is not the only veteran to be joining the Smash roster. It was also revealed that Lucas from Mother 3 – last seen in Super Smash Bros. Brawl – will be the next downloadable character available. He'll be ready to fight this June.
Also coming later this month is a software update, which will allow you to purchase even more downloadable content. Nintendo will make available costume and item sets based on classic franchises which will allow you to deck out your Mii fighters in all kinds of crazy ways. Mega Man, The Legend of Zelda, and Xenoblade are just some of the sets that will be available to buy for around a quid each.
