With its fantastic platforming, intense puzzling and beautiful music, Mighty Switch Force! quickly became one of the best titles on Nintendo's eShop. It was so good that WayForward recently released a HD remake of the original (which we're huge fans of) on the Wii U.

But it seems that the HD remake (which got a price reduction this week, so get downloading!) was merely the tip of the iceberg, as WayForward announced today that Mighty Switch Force! 2 is on the way to 3DS. 

There's not much in the way of solid details just yet but we do know that Patricia Wagon will be making a return but this time will be taking a break from her usual police work. The game is also said to be penned in for a 'Q1 or Q2' release, so it shouldn't be too far off.

Finally though, breathe a sigh of relief as Jake "Virt" Kaufman will be returning on the soundtrack to ensure that this title sounds just as incredible as the original.
