Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate surpasses a million in the West

Capcom has revealed that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on Nintendo 3DS has shipped over one million units in outside of Japan, making it the most successful iteration in the west to date.

Not only that, it achieved the milestone in just two months, following its western launch in mid-February. Once again, Nintendo worked closely with Capcom to promote Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and it surpasses Monster Hunter Tri and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate as the most successful game in the west.

Capcom cites the widely-distributed demo, free downloadable content, and the coinciding launch of the New Nintendo 3DS as factors in the game's success. To celebrate, a new Monster Hunter home theme for 3DS will be made available for free soon.

The news comes just days after Capcom revealed a brand new Monster Hunter game - in the form of RPG Monster Hunter Stories for 3DS.
