Just as we'd tucked ourselves in for the night with the Nintendo World Championships on the tele - happening now! - Nintendo had to go and drop yet another pre-E3 bomb. The original Mother - the RPG which spawned Earthbound - is releasing in Europe and North America tomorrow morning.

Shigesato Itoi's RPG was only ever released in Japan on the Famicom. It's SNES sequel was the more famous Earthbound, which notably got its first European release on the Wii U Virtual Console in 2013. The original Mother never released in the west, despite being translated back in 1989. Until now.

It will launch on the Wii U Virtual Console tomorrow morning, titled Earthbound Beginnings. Check out the trailer below.
