Nintendo announced a surprise retro-inspired title during today's Nintendo Direct - NES Remix.

The Wii U title, available from the eShop as of today, offers classic NES titles but with brand new challenges.

These range from swapped sprites - placing Link in the classic Donkey Kong title for example - to playing games such as Super Mario Bros. and Excitebike with decreased visibility.

Miiverse compatability has also been confirmed, allowing players to share their views and use brand new 8-bit sprite stickers.
