Two new games were announced in this morning's Nintendo Direct that will take particular advantage of the 3DS XL's larger screens.
First up is a new Art Academy game. The drawing-software, which helps artistic veterans and beginners hone their prowess, was a surprise hit in Europe on DS, and a follow-up is coming for 3DS.
New lessons, drawing materials and sharing options are featured in the new release. One new custom lesson is personally from the designers at Nintendo, where you can learn how to draw a Goomba.
The other game to be released is Freakyforms Deluxe. A sequel to the cult eShop game, Freakyforms Deluxe will be a retail release.
All your formees from your original game can be transferred over to Deluxe. The new game includes multiplayer options and an RPG mode, in which you have to create formees tailor-made to conquer various dungeons. StreetPass and QR code sharing return, and you can also view your formees in the real world using the 3DS' AR card.
Both games will release on July 28th, to coincide with the 3DS XL.
