Nintendo of Europe has confirmed that the ability to customise your 3DS home screen will be made available in October.

Special themed backgrounds, music, sound effects, icons, and folders will let you turn your home menu into a tribute to your favourite Nintendo franchise.

Keen eyes will also notice the slight aesthetic change to the top bar on the bottom screen with this update.

Nintendo didn't mention the exact distribution method (or cost) of the new themes, but we'll let you know as soon as it's confirmed.
